Saying Yes to Opportunity
How often do you get the chance to do something different?
How many times do you say "no" because you feel you should be employed elsewhere?
What would happen if you said "yes" instead?
We live a pretty ordered existence - working, eating, sleeping, children, pets, chores..the days go by so fast.
Sometimes it's so busy it's difficult to spot opportunities when they come up as they aren't "in the schedule". As I read on a t-shirt recently "My life seems to take up all of my time".
Last night whilst going for a walk locally we stopped by a field where the previously unidentified animals we'd glimpsed on an earlier jaunt turned out to be llamas. The man who owned them noticed me taking photos and invited us in for a closer look. We struck up an amazing conversation where he told us the story of how he'd acquired them and invited us to help him take some for a walk ( on a harness).

My gut reaction was about to decline this unexpected & kind offer for a number of reasons but then I hesitated - how many times would you get a chance to walk a llama and really what did I have to do back at home that couldn't wait?
Nothing.
The upshot was - we walked the llamas, went to see his pair of baby orphan kids he'd just acquired and had an amazing and unexpectedly spontaneous and enjoyable evening.
Life is busy but it is the only one we get - just proves you shouldn't only stop to smell the roses, you should go & walk the llamas!
